FRAN

I came, I saw, I Franned !

Oh that feeling in the pit of my stomach, the pressure, the anxiety, the 4 poops……..

It’s crazy to think how much thought can be put into a workout. People outside of CrossFit or even those who are new to it are probably thinking ‘why the hell are you nervous? you’re just working out!’ but those of you who have done this workout know exactly what I am talking about.

For me FRAN is the ultimate test. I think that once you get to the level of doing this WOD as RX then it’s completely a case of how hard are you willing to push yourself. It is essentially a fight with your mind as well as your body. No one likes going at 100% intensity, its not comfortable in that place but by putting yourself there time and time again you almost get used to it. This is one of those workouts that the better you get the harder it gets. I’ve listed below all my previous attempts on this workout so you can see my progress over time. I’ve been consistently putting in the work and I am gradually reaping the benefits.

The last time I did FRAN I did everything unbroken but took long rest breaks between exercises. Today I tried to go balls out and push through. I ended up having to break the set of 15 into 10 + 5 on both the Thrusters and the Pullups. Obviously there is always room for improvement and next time I hope to get under 3mins but I am very happy with my performance for now.

There are no shortcuts.
